San Diego Custom Iron Works is led by Luis Lazalde Sr. and Luis Lazalde Jr., a father-and-son team serving homeowners, property managers, and contractors across San Diego County. Clients can speak directly with the people involved in planning and delivering their metalwork.

The work is practical as well as architectural: a railing must fit its setting, feel secure in daily use, and suit the building around it. The team fabricates and installs custom iron and steel features for residential and commercial properties.

Custom work has to respond to the building around it. Measurements, attachment conditions, finishes, and how people use the space all shape the right approach.

That is why the team plans around the actual site and coordinates fabrication with installation. The result is metalwork designed for the specific home, building, or property project.

A hands-on process, from site visit to installation

Each project begins with understanding the site and the intended use. An on-site visit allows the team to review dimensions, attachment points, surrounding materials, and design details before the scope is finalized.

Depending on the project, the work may include laser measuring, physical templating, shop fabrication, and a pre-finish fit check at the property. These steps help the finished piece work with the actual conditions on site, including stone, tile, and irregular walls or stairs.

For apartment and condominium railing projects, the team can address metal fabrication, repair, replacement, and installation after the owner or authorized professional provides the applicable inspection findings or project requirements. San Diego Custom Iron Works does not perform SB 721 or SB 326 inspections, engineering evaluations, or inspection certifications.
